About Macleod Building
The Macleod Building, originally constructed in the 1960s, underwent a structural earthquake renewal in the 2020s. This renovation not only enhanced the building’s seismic safety, but also improved various other features. Among these improvements were updates to teaching equipment, and the implementation of a new façade design that promotes environmental sustainability.
The newly renewed ECE building is now fully compliant with all relevant construction codes, and boasts two new bridges that connect to other annexed buildings. Additionally, the building’s interior has been re-designed to facilitate coursework and research activities. The structural work undertaken also included provisions for future expansion, allowing for the possibility of adding two additional floors, thus not only earthquake resistance but also making the building future-proof for possible expansion.
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering provides a wide range of teaching facilities for our undergraduate and graduate students to use.
